About this questionnaire

What is a Privacy Assessment?

A short check WRPS does before starting a new project, system, or tool that uses information about people. Your answers help the Privacy Office spot risks early - so your project can go ahead without problems later.

Why am I being asked to do this?

Ontario law is making these assessments mandatory for police services (Bill 97, taking effect January 2027). Mostly, it’s how we make sure new projects treat people’s information properly.

What happens after I finish?

A privacy analyst reviews your answers and contacts you if they need more detail. You’ll get a reference number to quote if you want to ask about it later.

Can I change an answer?

Saved answers can’t be edited - that protects you and the record. If you need to change something, start a new questionnaire; the Privacy Office will use the latest one.
